My Angel

by Gregory Oregon

I have dreamt beyond my fingertips
I have planned past rationale and logic
I have reached outside stretched arms
And clawed at the sky
To the stars that lay beyond
The vision of my eyes

I have walked upon water
Ran deep into the horizon
I have been lifted by the dawn
I have been carried by the sun
To where tales have sprung

I have lived a myth and fantasy
I have loved if love ever were a word,
That none may ever know
I have stepped outside the margins of reality
Or to the lines that science has drawn

I know of that which the world will never know
I have felt sorrow, pain, strife, lifted from my past
I have looked into the eyes of my Valentine
And felt the sting of cupids arrow upon my back

It was not any month in particular
Nor any specific day to celebrate
I just know that I will always remember
It was You that made a believer of me
It was You that walked me through Heaven’s gate

This has a steady, yet gentle passionate flow to it that speaks of inner strength - almost magnetic, all encompassing. wow....
