one for my baby and one for the road by Gregory Oregonlaughter from under the covers
blankets pulled over our heads
she pulls My body in closer
trIes to kiSS me
and pins her lips agaINst my forehead
toes dipped in moonshine
leGs crossed and knotted tight
lip-smacking and blind scavenger hunt
are the games we plaY after midnight(3:00 a.m.)
i lOve to listen to the blUes
when theRe arent any lights
sad and easy fiLls the room
while she holds me tight
silently we lay at night
words are heard
yet gO by unspoken
chests pressed against each other
as hearts conVErse with each beat
she cant see Me
I can hear her breAthe
she kisses My Lips passionately
tO make suRe of me
im here, i say.
just wanted to be sure. she replies.
she wraps her arms and legs around me
and whispers in my ear, good night.
chesT to chEst
face to face
the hot air that lingers in between our parted lips
is the only fissure in our embrace
bodies anxiously await consciousness
while the dreAM Of last night replays
pleasure repeating itself over again
until the moment when we awake. 02/09/2008 Posted on 02/10/2008 Copyright © 2025 Gregory Oregon
