hope is fleeting

by Gregory Oregon

thinking of warmer days
in the depths of winters grave
only the bitter remains...
of yesterday

Expelled by a wistful whim
Carried by a pensive sigh
Love closes its eyes
And drifts away on a reminiscent breeze

...memories of spring
whilst i slumber underneath
the yielding embrace
from the limbs of a weeping tree

Author's Note: the world will not cease to turn. life will move on while i lay suspended in pain

Been there done that. It isn't always easy to move on. Some things cling to us like snow on a pine tree. Nicely done!
