Stripping

by David Garner

you start in ___Soft___ layers of something
far from anyone's ___Touches___ and anyone's longings
you rub your ___Ring___ with your thumb
you become as ___Intoxicating___ as illegal moonshine
your eyes mirror ___Poppers___ of quiet intrigue
you softly curl ___Petals___ like cherry stems
you make outsides ___Inside___ with subtle twists
of flexible movements ___Nocturnal___ nothing short of
miracles based on ___Grand___ size momentous unpeelings

The multi-layeredness of this poem mirrors it's delicious, "intoxicating" topic... It can be taken literally or metaphorically in many ways... which gives it a richness, I enjoy luxuriating in, and peeling... along with it. The "illegal moonshine" and "poppers" give this a floating euphoric level, and the subtle "curl__Petals__like cherry stems" luscious. Which leads one to the original form... which leads the eye in all directions of reading.
