Under the Guaze of Sweet Sudden Shocks and Unveilings by David Garner
I,
Virgin
to
True
Love,
Until
Recently,
Thought
True
Love
Was
Something
Only
Bargained
with
the
Devil
by
the
Lonely
and
the
Needy.
But
God
in
a
Heart
in
a
Wheel
in
a
Body
from
a
Heavenly
Wagon
Came
Rolling
My
Way
with
Such
Awesome
Perfection,
Precision
and
Grace,
Revealing
to
Me
Under
the
Gauze
of
Sweet
Sudden
Shocks
and
Unveilings
That
That
Kind
of
Thinking
and
That
Kind
of
Feeling
Needs
Flicking
Away
and
Good
Riddance.
Those
Kinds
of
Compacts
and
those
Kinds
of
Compounds
Go
Out
of
the
Window
along
With
the
Dust
Crumbs
and
Crumbles
and
the
infinite
particles
seen
only
by
eyes
through
bright
sunlight
and
daylight.
And
This
is
the
day
to
Open
Three
Eyes
and
Proclaim
Our
Good
Love
is
Not
Good
Love,
But
Our
Love
and
True
Love
and
That
is
the
Reason
why
I
Do
My
Laundry
at
Your
Place.

| Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 01/08/08 at 05:01 PM Just love the surprises under the "gauze" of this... the "three eyes" (highlighting the extaordinary) for one, and the "laundry" (bringing things down to the basics of everyday life and how it sings beyond itself) is the other. A breathless explosion of insight and wonder. Zestful--one can't help but hear this spoken aloud. |
