Tis the Season

by Genevieve Sturrock

it will not snow, it rarely
does here, so i do not associate snow
with Christmas. there are presents beneath the tree
and none are for me, but i do not want gifts for Christmas.
the wreath is on the door and the garland is strung, decorations
glitter and glow, even so, i do not need these for Christmas. our
parish is praying, the choir is singing, oh! how my soul rejoices
and though this is a part of my Christmas, it's those moments
of joy and laughter and fun as my children bake cookies
and gather around to sing carols, play games,
watch movies, or just hang and my heart
overflows with all of those things
that make me so grateful for
this wonderful season
i love Christmas
and my kids
give me
reason

Author's Note: this was supposed to be heart shaped, but i know nothing about html codes...but i kinda like the ornament shape it ended up in.

Christmas is the Season of Love and my kids give me more reason to love with each passing year.

This was a visual and poetic Christmas Carol on the importance of family and not of self! Beautifully done (excuse the adverb which I try not to use).

What a delightful shape! And the message melts my mom heart like those tiny marshmallows in a warm, sweet cup of hot chocolate.

I've got tears in my eyes because this is so beautiful and it reminds me of when my mother was alive and my family together and we had Christmases like these. Even with the tears, you've given me a memory that I've always kept in my heart.
