This Day

heaven has answered my prayer
He has granted the desire of my heart,
your smile has returned
like a soft, summer's breeze
beckoning me once more, to your world...
and it's all I can do not to jump on a plane
book the next flight,
throw all caution to the wind
just to feel your strong arms around me, so close
hear you tenderly say
'It's O.K.'
'my darling, I'm here'
'please stay and never go'
I know I could never leave
for you are the reason ...
let us step into all our tomorrows, together
for so long we have waited
anticipated,
let's not tarry, my love
too much longer ...
