it's a week until vacation
going to the southwest
i finally get to see
those places where
wile e devised his
outrageous contraptions
to capture that
obnoxious roadrunner
the painted desert
monument valley
the grand canyon
all extraordinary places
but the best part
is i get to take
you and watch
your shining faces
as you see
for the first time
those places that
we have seen on the
old reruns of the best
saturday morning cartoons
beep beep!
i'm still rooting
for that old
wile e coyote
