Mind Scrabble

by Genevieve Sturrock

oh my muse come
shake my thoughts
like those tiles
in the ubiquitous
crown royal bag

reach in
grab a handful
of the jumbled
words and phrases
that crowd round

set them
neatly
before you
and start
the shuffle

arrange
rearrange
sort, sift
collect
combine

oh please come
shake my thoughts
and unscrabble
my mind

Author's Note: too many thoughts lie layered upon each other and i cannot set them straight.

How did YOU know I keep my scrabble letters in a crown royal bag??? LMAO....that's too funny. Must be a universal thing. I hope it all becomes crystal clear soon, my dear. Love and hugs.

Hi Genevieve, I like the metaphor for scrabble and our minds! This was a nice, easy to read and fun poem. ALthough, I sense a bit of frustration in that last stanza?

Looks like your muse answered your call to me, this is a good arrangement if I have ever seen one.

My mom, sister, and I were just playing Boggle a few hours ago and I was thinking almost the same thing! Shake up a Boggle cube and write a poem from the words you find. ;) Great poem, Genevieve!

Interesting perspective here, my poetic friend.... gives us out here, something to think about... aloha to you and yours from this side of paradise... ;-)

haven't been on in a while but this piece reflects the very problem i've been having of late.. very well worded - you've captured it!
