Sudden Storm by Alisa Jswe looked upon time with contempt
convinced we had somehow slipped under that hurdle
there in the distance looming,
time slowed down or stopped whenever we were near
how exactly or by what mechanism, now I'm not sure
but I was certain of one thing
and that was you ....
so, we set our clocks accordingly at the appointed hour
tiptoed outside and though miles apart
connected by conversation that stretched across our hearts
reflected what I believed to be true,
what a wonderful life we had
the moon above watched with a subtle blink,
something I should have paid more attention to
the changing of the guard
whisper of the wind
the direction of the rain,
as it came down fast and hard ... 05/01/2007 Posted on 05/02/2007 Copyright © 2025 Alisa Js
