In the Heart of Slumber by Uriel TovarI let you leave
I let you live a little
Because you were still fresh behind the clay
breaking around the dry parts but
not quite solid.
I didn't want to mold you
I didn't want to weigh you down
under the palm of my hand
or press too deep into you with my shoe--
So i poured it deep into you
Watching the water wash you through my hand
Catching you in my fingernails.
I let you harden on your own
I let you run out into the drain
but you were always hardened
on my hands. 11/20/2006 Author's Note: someone special

The artist must allow the sculpture to be imperfect before he can lovingly create it into perfection. Would love to see this as POTD and voting for it. ;-)
