Salty and Red

by Uriel Tovar

I learned the cold hard truth of
the world
When my father
tried to kick me out
of my mother's womb.

Lying still, fetile,
in a pool of blood--
I realized who God was.

Brief but shockingly powerful! What a terrible understanding of God!!!
