IN DEFENCE OF KATRINA (ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY)

by Terry Olynik

Vent not your anger

At one named Katrina.

This is a name most fictional,

Bestowed upon our lady Nature

In alphabetical randomness

By some nameless beauracrat,

Who could never know.

She was born

Not of revenge,

Or apocalyptic/biblical intention,

She was birthed

On the trade winds,

And engorged on the gulf's

Equatorial heat.

A hot-breathed,

Low pressure dynamo -

She is Nature,

She does as she pleases-

Since the planet's first spin.

This time,

We got in the way.

...TERRY, THIS IS CAPITAL, a delightfully true account of the "blame"...end-timers have to look for some other things, eh?...i'm a parts-per-billion kind of guy, and a breeze in rio de janeiro causes a high sea in california...great, peace, chaz
