Water

by Corey Lockaby

i've been listening
trains and cars roar past
a distant avenue
my senses only dulled
things not working straight
and what part of me is wanted anymore?
is anyone so blind as
a book, being read, being disliked
but never changing?
i maybe
am that, thin and both
different in all eyes
and unchanging, i can't
by nature or by sinply being
i'm never
a mirror to souls, an attribute
only seen in those simple
(stupid, fluid, shuǐ) enough
to allow

let me, i can (who i am) if you'll allow

"is anyone so blind as a book, being read, being disliked but never changing?" Brilliance.
