Scattering Like Light by Uriel Tovarone is outgoing
and the other's shy.
she creeps behind the couch as
he comes through the door
with a bottle of champagne
--ready to blow the cork--
he searches anxiously
for her golden red hair
falling like
drowning stars
in a mexican ocean.
the hiding couch
grabs her figure
but her giggle escapes
melting air like
plastic incinerating
couch, rug and heart.
we can meld
into pieces
of what we can become.
a forest of water lillies
choking purple butterflies'
throats
dripping tears into the already
raging sea below. 05/16/2006 Posted on 05/16/2006 Copyright © 2025 Uriel Tovar
