sleeping like with chemicals
and waking to a dawn that seems grim
but managable

just like it's routine

or mornings are my time
when i can see through sleep's curtain,
a rare light enters my mind and
my day is changed and frank without
"painting pictures of someone's pretty side"

but never without emotion or love
as perhaps i'n expected to be

never without love
