Concerns by Terry OlynikHe watched her
Through the kitchen window,
Sunning herself
On the deck he had built
With his
Father's help.
He hadn't had
A decent night's sleep
In weeks.
Concerns
About mortgage payments
And
Cutbacks at work.
This was not
What he had pictured
When he said
I do.
Observing her now
Through the kitchen window,
It appeared
She too had concerns.
About
Her
Tan lines.

| Posted by Michelle Angelini on 11/10/05 at 10:08 AM Omniscience appears to be your strong suit, but yes, the mind of a woman is never easy to discern. The simplicity of your words is deceiving, because his mind must be on the tan lines... LOL!

In any case, thoughts/concerns are relative to the individual manifestation of experiences, conditions, and associations related to mechanical nature of the mind. A great little 'slice-of-life' scene you have going here, sprinkled with a dash of cynical bitterness despite the subtle indication that assumptions are dangerous :-) |
