Six Feet Away

by S.J. Tyler

Little more than six feet away
Is a woman I admire
Her fragrance wafts across the room
With a beauty that serves to inspire

My thoughts of unabashed ecstasy
That she might move just a little bit nearer
That, instead, she would sit next to me
So I might see her just a little bit clearer

I admire not solely her beauty,
Though it lights the fire in my soul
More so, her presence fills me up
So I might never be lonely at all

But this woman that I admire so
Has a temper, and o' can it flare!
Her poor heart can wrench mine from far away
And twist it in utter despair

I would be cast her stringed puppet
Dancing at her whim
If she let her emotions run free
This woman from the other side of the room
Has such incredible power over me
