Intervention by Krystall VegaAn A.M. wake up call for the man on the roof
comes in an odd form.
No NPR.
No loud beeping.
Instead, the business of the streets below
and the rays of the sun revive him.
Most of us dream of having a few hours more for sleep.
He has cravings and dreams of filling unfillable voids.
"It wasn't supposed to go this far."
Rummaging through memories encased in boxes,
memories from yesterday (or 2 years ago or whenever. . .)
they no longer serve another purpose but to buy his addiction.
Happiness doesn't come in dime bags. 09/12/2005 Author's Note: I watched "Intervention" last night and this story just really touched me.
