Something Cold

by Kim Bennett

Something cold lurks between the shine of rainbows,
Bitter minds walk from silence to emptiness,
So cold is the touch of life.
Frozen hands holding tight to Death's.

Walk toward the silent chaos
Dance in the empty existence of time,
Skip into the false world of flowers
Twirl into the cold between, and freeze.

Outside the smell is Winter.
Luscious prism gardens turn to stone,
Crisp graveyards of explosive imagination of colour
Purgatory's azure eyes kiss Death's lips and graze Life's hand.

Tandem fall into the infinite
A dance of rainbows, coldness, something lurking in-between.
Calm... as they lose themselves, thinking of...

Nothing.
Something.
Everything.

Something lurking in-between

Balance....
As eyes are pulled.
Captured by the transparent exhale of Death's breath.
Stars.

Author's Note: It's about purgatory, among other things.
