Speechless at 1:15 AM by Corey LockabyI'd go to bed, but sleep is too much like a mine
Digging up secrets that should stay in the ground
Trying not to think of her words
her (my) exploding chest
Her (my) silly fears that seem so (fierce) real
Like perhaps a color you've never seen before
(noticed in the mouth of an even stranger beast)
totally new and inexplicable
Ploys
trying
absurd and backwards
dead things, stay in the colorful ground
Sleep on the floor, (I can't even complete)
They would all feel different if you were gone
If this wasn't
(Or, real, strange is
as it may)
You take my very concept of how it should be
And (for the better, for the better)
without effort you change it
You make me feel like old floorboard standards and new freedom
(Aren't so different at all) 07/31/2005 Author's Note: It's too late to figure this one out, but, I hope it's okay.

| Posted by Sarah Graves on 08/04/05 at 12:00 AM I really like the style here, it makes it so much more powerful and personal. You seem to find that part of you that most people have a hard time surfacing. What I've read so far, I think is exceptional.. I look forward to reading more of your work Corey. |
