things can echo in the sewers
sounds won't carry on top of the streets
like w a v e s in the sewage
my song carries both weight
and meaning

when it's down there

i dream sometimes that my song is so special
that maybe my audience is actually crying
with joy, or perhaps
sadness
their lost loves coming to mind

but if there's actually anyone who listens to me
i can't see them
