There are drops of water
they slip
from the clouds and fall
maybe they just pretend
it's an accident

They travel down
and maybe
(just maybe)
the sky's their drain
it takes them down
into our place

Perhaps they were curious
or more than a bit envious
but however they come,
they soon learn how
their very by-laws are

a clever system
taking bits out, taking them back

Never letting them go.
