The Whiten Version Two by Charles E MinshallAround noon night In the dawning dark, 'Tis the silent tapping of the whiten That awakens all who sleep through it, To always remember nevermore again. 02/10/2005 Author's Note: The whiten is of course the raven

| Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 02/13/05 at 01:11 AM For some reason this reminds me of a children's picture book I used to read to the younger kids at school. For the life of me I can't think of the title though I can see some of the pictures and the story in my mind. It is the story of a fox who visits a farm on a quiet winters night. There is some subconscious connection. |
| Posted by Glenn Currier on 02/17/05 at 04:46 AM Ah! What a treat! This is the second Poe-like-Poe-inspired poem I have read tonight (See Andi Badgett's library). I have got to go back and read some of his stuff. He was the first poet and writer I can remember really loving. Your poem has an ominous feel to it and excites the imagination. Very well done, Chaz. |
