Selbstmord

by Cymbre Dolphay

she lay upon the cold stone
at the very edge of the cliff
eyes open to the starlight
heart closed to the world

as midnight spun into morning
and then morning to midday
she told the wind her secrets,
her fears, her joys, her failed dreams,
every piece of her of value
she broke free from her soul
and cast it adrift in the ocean below

when evening turned to midnight
she stood and faced the threshold
between her and the night
with nothing left she stepped forward
into the dark abyss

It's almost a synopsis for a much longer story. Haunting, I want to know what she told the wind, what made her surrender on the cliff...Beautifully told.
