Monsters by S.J. TylerSilhouettes on the pavement
the light is coming from behind
so I can only see silhouettes
there is a delicacy to them
those figures walking and standing outside
but I fear they might transform
into scragglier forms of monsters
angled, jutting things from my nightmares
and I will be an easy target
for I cant see their true faces
but the light shines clearly on mine

| Posted by Leslie Ann Eisenberg on 02/29/04 at 05:46 PM nice imagery, and i love the last line. what a punch in the gut. i was curious though, what is the impetus for fear that the silhouettes will turn into monsters? i don't need to know, so much as to feel some tension and terror.... |
