Working for change

by Aaron Howard

Another truck stop, another face.
Another person who knows disgrace
to be forced to work for change
in this land of the strange.
You work all your life to die alone.
Having to argue with social workers on the phone.
Not enough money to save your soul.
All the way the government has control
Sure you don't know it now
but that's their when and how.
They pull the blanket over your eyes
and let you get old for the big surprise.
They'll just lock you up and tie you to a bed
and then one day consider you to be dead.
So don't think your the big shit now
Because that's their when and how.
So run around and think your all the rage
till when your 70 they put you in that cage.
The cage of a wheelchair and an Iv.
and things to drug you till you can't see.
See, In America we sell off death.
A place to go to breathe your last breath.
Everyone dies down in a home
away from family, all alone.
Just the beeps and whirs of machinery to soothe
as you can hear the clatter of deaths hooves...

(And in other News, Social Security took another hit today)
