For I truly miss you can't you see?
For you were the one around when I was a kid
and now on past time I never got to bid.
I would have rose the price of effort ten fold
for I never thought you'd die at 40 years old.

but I didn't listen and hold the words dear...

I pictured you with my kids all happy and joy
and maybe one day having your own little boy.
Alas I didn't pay heed
to you and your time of need.
Your passing joke
that weeks later would make me choke.
My tears of pain on my pillow at night
and words echoed in my mind with fright.

For I just thought you were trying to be funny
and now you can't come back no matter the money.
So now I'm left with a sob and a tear
and you showed me what it's like to fear.
The loss of a loved one, one you held close
and from my past I miss you the most.
for now I can never say all that I wanted
and for that I'm alone and haunted
by the way I didn't stop to see
what in the hell you we're really saying to me.
