after she removed the cloud from my head.
She held me in her supple arms
and she kept me away from all their harms.
She told me she'd never leave me be
but now and again we'd come to see.
We'd see we weren't the ones before
and we always wanted something more.
We all thought back to loves we'd had
and how that in the end we'd always be sad.
I see how life can drive you insane
or leave you happy but in so much pain.
I could see the difference from night to day
or how to give up and just go away.
How to drop all your dreams in a puddle
and how love can sometimes befuddle.
So maybe there is no such thing as love
and maybe it's only proven when they push and shove.
Maybe it's just an emotion too deep for one word
or just maybe that's all I had ever heard...
