Void road trip by Aaron HowardWe continually drove all night
while they continued to fight.
A verbal fight
of control and might.
No one knew the cure
and he didn't know her.
A girl of sweetness.
A mind of discreteness.
She avoided the lines with tempered ease
as we felt the cabin drop in degree's.
An angry eye he'd shoot her way
only because he didn't know exactly what to say.
The rain fell like sand in an ocean of black
and all the words meant no turning back.
Never again, will I see her there.
Never to smell her silky red hair.
She left him in a motel paradise
but he was gambling with loaded dice.
He lost his honey late one night
after the overnight interstate fight.
