Go out for another night on the town
and drink so much that you wish you'd drown.
Laugh with the rest of the crowd down at the bar
and then think back to where you really are.
Dream off to a life more content
and picture all the letters you haven't sent.
Speak quietly about the new loss in your day
and come around here and laugh about it in your own way.
Drink to forget all that lingering pain
and dig that pit deeper into the insane.
