Things of an Evil Nature by Aaron HowardWhy does it seem God strikes me down for the petty things?
Like when a death for the hell it brings?
How can the passing on of someone else be bad?
When only the people left behind are sad?
Why do all the people blame the killer
when the deceased got the best thriller.
They got to pass on over to the other side
where you don't have to worry about trying to hide.
For they know the true meaning of life
and who was going to be your ideal wife.
For they know all the little secrets
and know all of the higher mathematics.
For they know all the things you could have been
and they don't even know the meaning of sin.
They love you for who you are
and they know you traveled far.
They love you for the effort you made
in this great game of life you played.
You might have got sent to heaven or hell
or could have been confined to a life in a cell
But it all comes around on the other end of the light.
Where the judge finds out he was never right.
Where a crime is punishing and oppressing.
No matter the rank or the dressing.
For it's not evil to be a slave.
It's evil to be the one to rant and rave.
It's evil to never work for what you own
or at least that's what you'll be shown.
As the dark pit opens beneath their feet
and they'll know the true meaning of heat..
