Selling your thoughts to subterfuge
and chronic lies about your life and fantasy
Freedom is what you want, but
you'd rather be stuffed into fantasy
Grasping your pillow in nightmares
Drenched in sweat, smelling of fear
Losing it all and ending it
with a moral choice so unclear
Asking yourself the questions
you’ve always feared
and seeing your slate and how
easily it was to be cleared
Grasping in utter amazement at the truth
and still unable to raise a claw or tooth
