Begging for more but getting less
and when you want an answer, they just guess...
No more definite in the world anymore
and you never find out what’s behind the winning door..
You grasp at a straw and come up short
and then can’t even think of a witty retort...
Life can stump you into humility at the snap of a whip
and you can find that you don’t have such a snug grip..
No more safe waters to tread
since a turnip is the only thing that can’t be bled...
Begging for more but getting none
and they get upset when you use a gun..
No more bobbing for apples, its pumpkin suit time
since you didn’t think robbery was a moral crime..
Begging for more but getting 3 squares a day
Admitting for nothing, but learning to pay...
No more clean air outside sunshine
while you waste away body and mind..
Stealing for hunger, stealing for habit..
Stealing just for the need to have it...
