Sleepwriting v2.0

by Aaron Howard

The words I write while I slumber.
The ever calling wrong number.
The broken mailbox of my life.
My battered and abused midwife..
My tortured soul in utter agony
and my mind with itÂ’s fragile fantasy.
Dealing with the voodoo chicken bones
and the late night ringing phones.
The style I forget but the smell forever
and no one will ever convince me, Never.
Lucid flashes and a mysterious premise
and all the things you ever wanted in a kiss.
The people who you may never forget
and dealing with a life full of regret.
Sleep away the best hours of your day
and sleepwalk through the rest of the way.
Who cares? You know not what I dream
and in which, my subconscious can scream.
Open my eyes and make my heart pound
over this never ever thing that is so profound.
Sleep walking through the life you lead
So sleep well my dear, and take heed.
