Passing embrace by Aaron HowardOur time, weather fleeting or permanent
seems to have left an impression in cement.
You left your scuff mark on the hall of my mind
with your touch and works oh so kind.
With that soft smile and warm embrace.
The sweat dripping from your face.
All the things I have come to learn and love.
All of the things I need to give me a shove.
A kiss and touch, a smile oh so warm.
An embrace that took away the worlds harm.
A laugh that I long to hear.
A woman that I long to hold near.
A jewel in this world of coal.
A sparkle that adds to my soul.
A smile comes to my face
but then fades as this is a passing embrace.
A time we only got to spend for a while
but only to leave you like innocence to a child.
Now were stuck with E-mails and phones
and either way we go to bed alone.
So is this more than just passing?
Is this something worth lasting?
