Normal man by Aaron Howard
A man, a normal man.
Feeling with his heart without a plan.
He turns the door knob
as his beloved lets our a sob.
A tear shed into a pillow
while she's weeping like a willow.
Distance can be a cruel thing
and the feelings, space can bring.
Love is something they both cherish dear.
Love is something they respect and fear.
While their together it's bliss.
Rapture deeper with every kiss.
Departure is an ax to grind
and love is a hard thing to find.
Will time test their love for the truth?
Will their still be ecstasy in the telephone booth?
Will the stay together or fall away
without time to work and play?
School and work, Love and life.
Plans he draws to make her his wife.
A pedestal for a step.
A hug as she wept.
A plan and a process begun
so they spend these lonely days under the same sun.
Still in contact and out of control.
Somehow they still complete each others soul.
Love is forever, bitter and remorse.
Love sometimes doesn't follow a steady course.
Alone or a lie might get in the way
when we're afraid of what not to say.
