Still holding on to something you can't have...
when it comes to being a man, you feel like your half.
After all the shit you've thrown away
and all the time you've had to play.
After all the opinion's you've swayed
and all the times you used it to get laid.
After you stick up your best poker face
and see if she wants to come back to your place.
Three days after the fact and a phone call away
and then you all talk and have nothing to say.
So maybe it's just another fling to call to a halt.
Like a knocked out fighter getting a dose of smelly salt.
So will you pursue the possibility of something more
or do you think of that as more of a chore?
Would it not be worth the while if there were the difficulties?
like if she had spots where she shouldn't have those or these?
Would you judge her for her love and faith
just by the color of her plate?
Would you decide to push her away
just because she don't like to play?
Would you get mad if she wasn't the one?
Would you just smile in the name of fun?
Will you remember her face the next day
Or will you be looking for your next lay?
