Murder clause

by Aaron Howard

You'd better not leave me here...
You better hold and keep me dear...
You better not lie, like all the rest...
You better get these feelings off your chest...
You better level it on down..
You better not try and be the clown
So are you going to back up all you say
or do you think of it as just a part in a play?
Do you lie about love and feelings to be
or are you still to blind to see?
Do you love them still or is that forgotten?
Do you resent it? Make you feel rotten?
Do you wish for a love long past?
Do you wish for something that couldn't last?
Do you wish for your last breath?
Do you wish never to see death?
Do you ever laugh your way home
Or do you just stumble there alone?
So you'd better not leave me hear
and hold me and keep me dear.
Keep me warm when it's cold
and love me till I'm old.
Then push me down some stairs
and pick the glass from my hairs.
Cry over my slumped corpse
and lie to all the courts..
Let me pass first so I not know the loss
to the flippant lie's coin toss
of losing you and living all alone
with no one around in my empty home...
