Linger by Aaron HowardA feeling linger in my soul for weeks
and inside my mind I take absent minded peeks.
Looking into things that make up what I really am.
Trying to mind up if my conscious is on the scam.
I break myself down at least once a day,
since that's the only form of mental foreplay.
I ask myself the questions that no one would dare
since it seems only then you come to never care.
You shed all your fear and anxiety about life
and you cut all of those ties with a mental knife.
You shed your skin and start back around anew
and find how far you've really come and grew.
So let your lingering words speak their pureness
since it was me who was lucky of all to be the witness.
Maybe one day I can truly thank you for all you meant
and to pay you back for all of the time you spent.
Maybe one day I can show you how you really effected me
and how you once helped a blind man to open up and see.
