Kindly soul

by Aaron Howard

I only want what I can't have
since apparently I can't do the math.
I beg for things I'll never own
and I never let my true feelings shown.
I ask the questions only I know
and inside. I'll never fully grow.
I'll beg you to show me even though I'm blind
and I'll be all nice then switch and be unkind.
I'll mask all the emotions that I own
and Ill distort what is to really be shown.
I'll ask you a question that I already know
and I'll teach you all the wrong ways to grow.
I'll open you up then close your mind
and teach you it's O.K. to be mean and unkind
I'll teach you how to reach in and really take control
and I'll teach you how to tell yourself your a kindly soul.
Ill tell you all the things your want to hear
and when it comes to your prophecies you hold dear.
I'll drop the ball in the middle of the game
and then turn it around to involve your name.
I'll look around the room with a hateful stare
just because I don't happen to care...
See you all say your cool and you say your nice
but what do those words fall on? A block of ice..
So you might think that it's all good
and you're bound for Zion, knock on wood...
So look at me and look at you
and come to a conclusion that's new
maybe if we all listened a litter deeper
We wouldn't be the kindly soul sleeper...
