Jesus refusing by Aaron Howard
As the rain falls in the backyard of my reality
and the roads flood over past the point you can see.
You hide from all the drops of rain.
Thinking of each petty impact as a great pain.
To hide from nature, from yourself
to stuff mother nature up on a shelf.
Keeping yourself hidden from the blue sky
and not enjoying the sensi free high.
You hide in your stifling concrete box
and sit there alone watching the clocks.
Not being conscious, loosing the ability to feel.
Looking around and not knowing the deal.
Like a fish on a reel.
Like Jesus refusing to kneel.
All alone with no place to go
Do you let your emotions show?
Do you bluff your way into love?
Not looking for who's above.
Just you and you alone,
on a map with no way shown.
So you stick with your urban streets
and the hassles of the midwinter sleets.
Beating the cold,
watching the seasons as you get old.
Thinking of being free,
when you used to climb that oak tree.
So get out while you can,
stand up and be a man.
So you wont be all alone
waiting impatiently by the phone.
No one to ever call
or to go shopping with at the mall.
