Humidity

by Aaron Howard

The rustle of air in a dark summer room.
Seeing a shadow on the wall loom.
Feeling the sweat puddle in the small of my back.
While she strips and moves to the attack.
she claws at me like a lion to prey.
leaving me without a single word to say.
She moves graceful as an eagle to the wind
and to me all her love, she does send.
Her touch send chills deep down my spine
and within her I know we entwine.
We run like gazelle's in the plains
while we make our protein stains.
We know no connections other than love
for all the petty emotions we feel above.
We've been together only in my dreams
for there I seem to reflect in her ecstasy's screams.
For when I awake on those summer nights
I can't seem to forget your sights.
You've burned your love into me like a brand to flesh
for I can't seem to forget those times we've meshed
in the back sear, under the house...
even that one time in your prom blouse...
Who'd know your date would walk by?
I still try to blame it on you being high.
So after all was done and said
and you smacked me upside the head...
I got the clue that I was the only one in love
and I found out, even you, I was truly above..
That was long ago and this is now...
but I still can't figure out how
my dreams of you still haven't stopped
even when I'm fully dropped.
