A Summer Breeze by Christopher ShinGood bye to yesterdays,
when the world seemed simple
and time seemed so young.
Good bye to spring times
with your burning rays,
and the smell of fresh
dew.
Good bye to dreams of lover's
kisses and fond embraces.
Good bye to hopes and possiblities
of the future in this world.
Good bye to you who only held me
for a moment as life is merely
a fleeting jumble of ifs and buts.
Good bye to last cigarettes smoked,
and conversations spoken in
the diner that was my stoop of
philosopher's debate and romantic
hearts.
Good bye to last calls and pats on
the back for a job well done.
Good bye to last spirits and
memories of loves long gone.
Good bye to finding peace
in a chaotic world.
Good bye and good luck to you all
who are the dreamer's cup of endless
fortune and luck in this world.
Good bye to memories though they plague
me like a ghost who will not leave me be.
I'll blow a kiss in the end,
and hope that it reaches you
with a softness more then a
summer breeze can carry. 12/15/2003 Posted on 12/15/2003 Copyright © 2025 Christopher Shin
