catwalk messiah,
jesus would laugh at you.
you walk among the angels,
dressed in black- blend into the
back of the theater.

the light couldnt reach you where i was standing,
the stage just could not reach you.
you would have refused anyways,
it's just your style. but to
know you had the chance to be up here
with me, breathing.
well, it would have been nice.
but i know you better than that.
i know people are less and less like themselves
these days, people are more and more
people praying for the possibility of a little
light to shine into their world, when all they
must do is take a few steps forward.

it's not hard, just stammer the breaks in
a few key sentences, and then remind yourself
these people are all menaces,
then say something to the effect of your individuality-
and you'll just be up here in denial- along with me.

i havent even taken these steps, but the
catwalk messiah is telling me that i'll make it.

i wouldnt be surprised if he told you the same thing,
