Untitled (Another for her)

by Vikki Owens

I am well rested with this grief,
my bed, a guilt that I lay down upon,
a girl I lay with, a daughter, I dream of...
I am opened up,
a hollow where the seed was, instead
a thorn
to remind me.
The sun is endless-set, I drown in the thoughts
of a puzzle-peicework girl. An eye, a smile,
the rustle of a dress...
I close my eyes against her, she remains.
I sink beneath her, beneath the ocean
of knowledge of her..
The dreams do not bring me peace.
