Speedball of the millenium

by Aaron Howard

Alcohol and Adarol.. Speedball of the millenium
When you forget where you’re going and where your from
Diagnosed with hyperactivity and lividity
Singed sealed and delivered from stupidity
Stolen moments grasped in the midnight hour
While you write poems from your ivory tower
Stolen glances at the monitor from afar
As you drive 200 hundred miles an hour in your car
Speeding past stars falling from the sky
Not even afraid if you had a chance to die
Spoken words over the CB, just to talk to yourself
As you grab your favorite disguise of the medicine cabinet shelf
Swallow your pride and your favorite disease
Just another night speeding past the breeze…
Selling off the moments of time to memory
While your mind focuses on the internal symmetry
Spending hours whirring away on a keyboard called home
So you can pump out another love sick hate poem
Bitten in the ass one too many times by fate
Where you wish you could just start with an empty slate
Given the chance, you probably do it all the same again
And then dwell on this life in which you’ve come to depend
Selling off the master of the universe for games galore
So you could avoid one more night of a tedious chore
Make the change jungle in the cup of homelessness
And find another life…maybe this time you’ll find bliss…
