Hidden treasures

by Aaron Howard

The leaves have come and gone
and I’m still waking alone at dawn.
The wheat came and went
and all the money got spent.
Simple life, Simple pleasures
but I miss your hidden treasures.
You said you’d be back someday
and that was all you had to say.
So in the farmhouse it’s another lonely night
Dealing with the passing time, hoping to turn our all right.
Simple lives bring simple pleasures
and the hope of recovering those hidden treasures.
