My shakedown desperation

by Aaron Howard

My heart stopped beating when out
came the truth from your own mouth.

My brain packed it’s things and decided
to pull up stakes and relocate down south.

My eyes flooded like the Philippines
during the monster of monsoons.

My face turned red like the ass
of one of those angry baboon’s.

My eyes reeled into a form
of stunned internal reverberation.

My soul now knew the feel
of this shakedown desperation.
