Maybe I should forget about all we had
then maybe I wouldn’t be so sad…
Maybe I should forget all this lingering regret
and sit down and settle that bet..
Maybe I’m just the looser in a pack of winners
and maybe ‘m the preacher man to a bunch of sinners..
Maybe I’m all I fear and loathe the most
and maybe, if I’m at the party,, I’m the host..
I think I attract all the worst parts of me
and make up my own nightmarish reality
Move in and sell my freedom to someone else
and then cry when the good time gold goes and melts..
Melts down into the shape of my broken heart
but at least from this end there is a start..
Show you how I feel and how deeply I care
Show you how much I love the smell of your hair..
Show you how I miss you when your not around
Show you how I love to hear you make that moaning sound..
Maybe I’m just the agent of evil gone wrong
and maybe, Just maybe, I should stop this same old song.
